I am planning to add brake fluid flushing to my list of services we provide here and am wondering what seems to be the best or should I say a good way of getting the black gooey mush out of the bottom of some master cylinder reservoirs?

Replacement I think is about the only way to get the crap out of some of them. Could remove then spray out with brake clean. Even at that trying to get in some of the little compartments and get them clean can be tough.

If the resivoir is removable, I will pull them off and flush them with brake kleen. Otherwise the only way would be to r&r master.

The bg machine has a suction portion were we suck out all the stuff out of the reservoir before flushing the system. It comes with a few attachments to help this. If a reservoir is really stained or contaminated id consider replacement.

brake fluid, synthetic is the exception is water soluble. i will remove the fluid from the reservoir and wash it with a soft wet cotton cloth. it it's removable i'll wash it in the sink with warm water and mild detergent.
