2001 Sllverado HD Dsl - Trans Connector Leaks

Post by asample »

This is one my techs vehicle.

The issue is with the electrical connector on the Allison transmission. It leaks fluid through the connector. Have replaced it 3 times. The last time we packed the inside of the connector with silicone and let cure for several days before installation.

It is leaking again. Would like to know if any of you have experienced this and how did you remedy it?

Thanx in advance.

not on this application but i have had issues with fluid leaking through pass through plugs because it's traveling though the insulator of a wire. it drove me nuts. i would look at a sealed sensor inside the transmission that the wire is part of the casing. :?

Well, I can understand that a liquid sealer will not seal it for long. The chemicals in ATF will eventually loosen anything except rubber parts designed exclusively for use in a automatic trans.

If that truck was here, I'd be asking my exceptionally good GM parts guy what to do. I think I would also be contacting Allison regarding the issue. See what they would recomend.
