What year? Newer GM's need to have modules programmed after installation.

Yea. According to Mitchell On Demand info, the door actuator must be programmed or recalibrated as is the term they use it.

I see you are new to this forum. Welcome aboard. You will find (as I did) some very helpful guys on this forum. Some of us like to pick at each other so we banter at times but I have found this forum to be one of the better ones available to repair shops.

May I suggest that if and when you request info, you state year, make, and model. Give as much relavent info as possible and before long you will get help.

When you say 'actuator', what exactly do you mean? Do you mean the latch itself? Or the switch? The lock actuator is part of the latch. If it's that, then it shouldn't need to be programmed. If you did the switch, it needs to be programmed. Why did you replace it? What was the original symptom?

Also, do you have any park problems with the wipers or other weird issues? There's a TSB for that.

You bring up a good point of what actually was replaced. I assumed 'actuator' meant module and that's why I said that it needs to be programmed or recalibrated. I obviously may have assumed before I knew facts.

"Some of us like to pick at each other so we banter". Couldn't agree more.

Did you use your scanner, go into body control and take a look at the door? I believe there are a few safety locks on this door. Not positive but i think one is if the module is reading the vehicle in gear it will stop the door from opening. It could be something so unrelated like the neutral safety switch.
