I have a 97 Blazer with a 4.3. that will start and then engine locks because cylinders fill with fuel.
Any ideas?

Doesn't this have the "spider" fuel injection system inside the plenum? I've had the fuel pressure regulator do this in the past on those systems. Can you pull the throttle body off and see inside?

If that much fuel is getting into the intake I would be looking for a busted fuel line inside the intake going to the injector assembly.
Working hard to prove the Green Team can do it with the best of 'em.

I've never seen one lock up because of fuel in the cylinders after it starts. I've seen the stall and lock up from coolant but never fuel. Will it lock up if you cycle the key on and off a few times? I've seen lock up with coolant contaminated with fuel. Take the radiator cap off and fire it up, have someone you want to get even with stand on the cap side of the radiator because there may be a bath possibility. Is the oil contaminated with gas? If it's fuel the cats should cherry up and if you look at them they should be heat treated blue. Again i'm thinking coolant.
