Hello Everyone, hope all are well and busy
I will try to be brief and to the point:
2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 3.2L V6 4wd
First the Rear Differential was noisy and we replaced it with a "used'" One (10/19/21)
then 5 months later the Transfer case came up with this code (C1477-4B - overheating clutches)
The Trany Shop replaced the Transfer Case and reprogramed the module but the code keeps
coming back but everything is working --- Just looking to see if any one else has had and/or
seen this problem and could suggest where to go to next ????

Re: Code C1477-4B - 2015 Jeep Cherokee
I never ran into this but just checking code, it says no repair necessary. Always perform the PRE-DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE before proceeding. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/StandardProcedure) .
Diagnostic Test
TRANSFER CASE OVERHEATED DUE TO EXTREME CONDITIONS - NO REPAIR NECESSARY
NOTE: This DTC sets when the vehicle has been driven in a manner that causes the Transfer Case clutch to become too hot. As a precautionary measure, the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) will limit 4WD functionality until the temperature is in a safe range. No repairs are necessary.
1. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
2. Record the Environmental Data.
3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
4. Operate the vehicle under normal conditions.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did any DTCs return?
Yes
Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
Test complete.
I would see if there is and data pid for for the rdm clutch temperature. It looks like it is a calculated temp, so far I do not see how they calculate this. Sorry not much other help.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
