Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting the question.
Please confirm which version (5.9 or SE 6.4). If you are using 5.9, I can email a custom INV template with instructions.

Sorry, this was custom made for Manager 5.9 about 3 years ago.
In order to get the SE reports up to date and out the door, we had to make the decision that this would not include any custom reports.

Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
How soon will they come with it for SE? It really is a pain to explain the "revisions" on the work order to customers, when it was just from transferring the information from a revision. With all the other options they have, I would think it would be pretty easy to throw this in the next update

I also would love yo see this in the next update. The revisions for some reason really confuse customers.

I will continue to mention this request for a future update.
You may already be aware (other readers may not be), if you do generate Rev data, that copy/paste to fresh order will remove this attribute from the order. Then delete the original.

I'm curious. How does the Revision data confuse customers? I use Revisions and I thought it's purpose was to help customers understand the process.

Some of the Revision data may be generated from late additions to the order, after it was marked printed rather than pure Revisions transfer.

Where we have a problem is if we have an estimate that was converted to a work order and then things get added to the work order because the customer adds things or we sell other work ect.ricmorin wrote:I'm curious. I see. Now let me ask this. When the customer adds things or you add things to the order, do you just manually add them to the order? Or do you use the transfer revision feature? Are the revision values different than the invoice? I'm just trying t understand the process since so many people use the software in different ways.

Honestly I rarely use the transfer revision. We are a father son two bay shop. Not saying this is right or wrong.ricmorin wrote:I see. Now let me ask this. This is a little off topic, I stay up to date on shop management and the trends of the industry and honestly some of the ways others are able to do things, charge for, ect do not work in this town.

I totally understand. Not all things work in all places.
So because you don't use the transfer option, the data in the Revision box doesn't match the invoice total. Customers see this and you get questions. Better to just make it go away. I understand where you're coming from.

Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
We are using 6.4 currently...
Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
I even tried to just utilize revision for building the estimate but the problem I have is you cannot attach a tech so F12 works correctly. Hope these updates come soon...I have not encountered any issues with customers but I know that they are there in print and I truly would prefer if they were not. However I do like the part numbers with no tech hours shown.

Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
Understood.
I have to ask why the part number visibility is so important? Usually that is the first thing to be requested for removal on the customer's invoice as some end up tracking the part back to the source and giving you a driveway moment or worse.
That no hrs no P/N no rev Invoice could solve this right now.

Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
Tim,
Warranty companies request part numbers to be on the invoice. Our parts suppliers also want the part number on the invoice if we have a warranty situation.
I'm not sure - but I think some states also require it.

Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
Okay, looking at it another way....what to do in the meantime.
1. Use the No No No Invoice on a daily basis.
2. If you need to print an Invoice (with Hrs / No Rev) for warranty (exception), switch to Invoice with part numbers visible. Then change it back.
3. If there is a part warranty situation, the part number data is in the database and can easily be found with the Part Number Search report.

Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
Also, if warranty issue comes up, you can print from history with the part number listed. I do a lot of work for the warranty companies and have not had a problem useing the no no no invoices, haven't had one kicked back yet for it...... I have had the same issue with the revisions being on the invoice, even when using revisions as they should be, some people just do not understand them and think something is hookie with the bill......
Working hard to prove the Green Team can do it with the best of 'em.

Re: INV With P/Ns, No Hrs + No Revisions?
For me again as I stated if revision log is gone that would be great or allow tech in revision estimate to appear to be able to utilize F12..If I sell a job at $900.00 and I am trying to make prices fit and make my margins the revision log uses alot of ink....LOL!...I like part numbers and prefer no tech hours, my labor rate is flexible and I like the fact it cannot be figured out easily....Great thing, we are doing business different which is why all the different invoicing is available, I would like one catered for me and my 2 stores, doing business my way. I am sure my way may also suit some other locations also. Hopefully updates coming soon...Thanks for your time...
