I'm trying to institute a new discount for my customers: 5% off up to $50 max. I set up the 5% discount easily enough.
There is no dialog box I can see that allows me to limit this discount to $50. I thought I had seen that option in the past, but I can't come up with it now that I need it.
Solutions?

Re: Discount Setup
There is not a cap on Discounts in Setup. Shops may chime in with how they do it.
FYI - I'm going to publish a new Discounts tip we just got at the Atlantic City users workshop....

Re: Discount Setup
Perhaps this is something that can be incorporated in future updates?
Interestingly, this applies to a AAA discount, which is standardized nationwide at 5% with a cap of $50 (was $100 until very recently, but the idea is the same). So it seems that there are probably hundreds of Mitchell users that are affiliated with AAA that have figured a way to do this.
Like I said earlier, I thought I had seen this function somewhere before, but perhaps it was attached to a different coupon or discounting feature.

Re: Discount Setup
The only cap option i use is in shop supplies. As far as automatic discounts with the exception of coupons i don't use them. Any, and i mean any discount, goes through me or if i'm not here Scott. Even my daughter isn't allowed to discount. A few years ago discounts were somewhat liberal, not any more. If you are at the point of sale then the discounts should be applied there and then. I guess what i'm driving at is that a few years ago i had three people dealing with customers and after a while discounting was a bit liberal and opened the door to helping their buddies out. The 5% discount was being given up to easily so i put an end to it. Any business is a penny watching one. Watch the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves.
never argue with a fool, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Re: Discount Setup
Discount caps are recorded on the Enhancement Request list. It makes sense to impliment after the By The Job architechure is completed.
