Hello
I have a client with an accidental credit. I went to send a balance due statement and have a credit that I do not know how to remove.
Thank you

Re: Removing a Credit?
There are a few ways to do this.
One way would be to go through the payments and find out what went wrong, delete that payment and enter it correctly. This keeps the 'paper' trail intact.
Or
You can go to the Customer Tab, click on Update Customer and make the credit line zero. No paper trail.
First one is hard, second is easy.

Re: Removing a Credit?
Thank you! That worked. I did the first option. Now I remember being able to do that one before....but this one stumped me for some reason.
Re: Removing a Credit?
When I am at the credit location
Utilities/batch report/payment
How do I change the amount then?
I am able to print up a balance statement with the correct balance but for some reason a credit is still being shown.

Re: Removing a Credit?
If all your payments are correct and you still show a credit in Batch Payments, then I'd just nuke the credit by using option 2 as described above. That should flatten everything out.

Re: Removing a Credit?
Howdy Ric,
Found this thread and have used your option 2 a few times to clear pennies at times, However I just tried it again and it was able to change a .01 to 0.0, but still shows up on the statement. Then when I get back into Customer screen/update the .01 credit reappears. What to do next?
Thanks, Dan

Re: Removing a Credit?
I'm thinking that there is a calculation somewhere that's rounding and causing this. Have you tried to 'pay' the one cent in Batch payments? If not, give it a try. Then I might run the database utilities to clean up if it didn't clear.
