TIP: Customer Check-In List

How would I get a customer check in sheet? Usually when a customer walks in, I give the customer a (Excel spreadsheet) form to fill in name, address,, complain, etc, then I walk with customer to examine car for obvious problem, dents, etc (which is written on the form). I then go back to start a RO with form info. Does Manager has that type of check in spreadsheet printout? thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Manager does not have a form like this, probably because these are too unique to serve everyone. Instead, I make forms using a Labor line. You can make a Canned job called Check In. Include a labor line with the questions and lines for the answers. Then place this in your Quick Menu for easy right-click access from your order screen. Now when a new customer arrives, you can start an Estimate, drop this on there and print it out for the customer.

I will add, however, that I as a customer would not really like filling out a form on my first visit. We do what you do, but person to person. Just makes it all more........personable. :)

So in your labor window you have something like this.....

Name: _________________
Address: ________________
Vehicle: _________________
Symptom: ________________
Etc.: _____________________

I've made all kinds of forms this way.

The Manager program does have a report that is called the 'Driveability Worksheet' that is close to what you're describing. It is found under the reports, selecting the 'Client' tab. See if that might work for you.

A driveability check sheet is imperative. Many, many, many times a question i've asked has been the key to the issue and has made the repair sooooooooooooo much easier. I have the check sheet when asking the customer questions when vehicle is dropped of, another for me when i walk around the vehicle, and another for the tech.
