Phone # With New/F6 Key Different?
Just noticed today, service advisor brought it to our attention, that when using the new ticket (F6) key the phone number shown on the screen is not the phone number(s) selected in the customer tab. For example, customer has 3 phone numbers - 2 numbers are marked with (x) to show up on WIP screen, but the unmarked number is the one that shows up on the F6 feature box. Just wondering why...

These are two totally different things.
1. F6/New is going to bring up ANY customers with those last 4 digits anywhere in the phone number table.
2. The checkboxes in the Telephone List are simply to set a display preference.

He was pulling the information up by last name, not by phone number.

Then it's likely displaying the first valid phone number in the Telephone table. It's not configured anywhere.gordonedwards wrote:He was pulling the information up by last name, not by phone number.

That's what seems odd, because it's not the first number. It's kinda like random.

Need specifics of at least one instance to try to establish anything further.

I have a customer chosen who when pulling up the name by F6, that it shows the second phone number from their phone list. 1st and 3rd number are chosen for display on WIP. Would you like to see it on my machine? Thanks, Gordon

Here are my results with a brand new customer record:
1. 2nd & 3rd #s checked, 1st # displays
1. 1st & 3rd #s checked, 1st # displays
1. none checked, 1st # displays
I cannot recreate your situation; if it really bothers you, please send an email to tech support.
