Inventory Control?

i am having a problem with inventory, some parts numbers keep showing up in stock. when i do a part number search the report shows where i bought the item & where i sold the item, but when you do a inventory report it still shows that you still have it in stock, i think it has something to do with not being categorized.

Category is a secondary consideration (attribute) of part sales. When you order a new one time part and receive it on the PO screen, do you always make it an inventory record? If you do, does the Inventory checkbox in Part Item Edit window stay checked? If that checkbox becomes unchecked, then you would record a sale when confirmed on the invoice, but it would not zero out (subtract it from) the inventory QOH.

Probably need to work through an example to see what's happening there.
