Returning Part Populates Last Sold Field

Post by ricmorin »

Keeping inventory is a challenge. We all want to keep only the numbers that move. I routinely look through my stocking items and return what isn't moving and stock what I've sold recently but don't have a stocking level yet. Yesterday I did this with some down time. I used the Return Part feature under Inventory Transactions like I always do. Today I noticed that each part I returned yesterday has a Last Sold date of 5/31/16. Huh? Most of those parts were NEVER sold, now I have a date there. Subsequently, when I look again in 6 months, I'll see a recent 'sold' date and think, 'why aren't I stocking this number?' Talk about a vicious circle.

Returning a part should not populate the Last Sold field.

Is there a way to clear that field so I'm not fooled later? No telling how many times I've re-introduced stock unknowingly in the past.

I just replicated this - sending upstairs to discuss with downstairs.

Also, if I reduce a part number using the Physical Count feature, that too populates the Last Sold field. I see these functions as separate from the sales process.

The only way to reduce a part quantity without inducing a sales date is to manually edit that part from the Inventory Edit window, as I see it.

My records show this bug was added to Tracker and V1 on June 1st; no further info at the moment.
