Tech clocking in if job not assigned

Trying to get out of the dark ages and away from paper time cards and old school punch in time clock. Is there a way for a tech to clock in on a job if the labour line has not been assigned to him. We don't typically assign the job to a specific tech when the orders are made up as that can change several time throughout the day. The only thing I can come up with is if the tech goes to the order, puts his name on a labour line and then can clock in on that line.

There is not currently a way for the technician to do that, no. Others might offer some creative solutions.
