2002 Kia Sportage - 2.0L Spark No Injector Pulse

Hi,
I have a 2002 Kia Sportage 2.0L that was towed in for no start, checked timing cover, timing belt was broke, replaced timing belt, now we have spark but no injector pulse. What controls the injector pulse? Or what else should we be looking for?
(the customer brought the vehicle in as they were attempting to repair it themselves, there were relays on passenger side seat, that we have put back into vehicle)
Thank you.

If it runs when you add fuel, the valves got lucky, I would be looking for a cam signal to the PCM, probable a bad cam sensor....

Do you have power on one side of the injector circuit?

I don't know much about this particular engine, but according to another user on Identifix, this could be caused by a main relay issue. Maybe if the relay is in the wrong spot. I attached the file.

it looks like the injectors fire off of the cam sensor and is controled by the main relay. the sensor is on the back of the head. this is a typical tiger hunt. your looking for a "tech" made error. there could be a plethora of issues from fuses being pulled to a harness unplugged. as mentioned the relays can be in the incorrect plug. if you're checking with a noid light use a test light to see if there is a impulse. you can have an impulse and no ground or impulse without positive power. the harness for the injectors may be unplugged or a simple blown fuse. this is the dreaded "no diagnostic flow" situation. another thing i would caution here is the fact that if you do repair it you now have taken responsibility for it. if, in the future something else fails it will be at your door since you were the last person to work on it. basically, in situations like this i replace everything that was installed before it was brought to me. i'm thinking that the person that owns this car went on line and read that a broken belt would cause no pulse because the cam isn't spinning and threw a belt at it. the original problem still exists. if i were busy i would push it to the curb. i see nothing but headaches here. this has the "bottomer" smell all over it. to top it off this car has a 100k warranty on it. if it.

Ordered a cam sensor, should be in today,
thanks for all your replies and help on this vehicle.
the timing belt was actually snapped, it ripped, I have never seen one rip without tearing the nibs of the belt before. Hopefully this person got lucky.
Will post what the outcome is when it has left the shop.
thanks again

Well, we had a what? torn timing belt and a bad cam sensor both at the same time. Is that lucky or what?

I would guess that he got lucky and the belt eat the sensor instead of the valves....
