Anyone Using 1st Mile With Manager SE?

We used it for about a week. In our case it took about 5 times longer to check out a customer which in our opinion was a show stopper. In addition, across several calls to 1st Mile Support we were not happy. It wasn't at all like contacting Mitchell Support. While it did work as described it was a little more tedious than our stand-alone card reader (ingenico iCT220). In addition, the signature capture feature is still in development from Mitchell. I had heard that it may be available end of February but you would have to confirm with Mitchell.

I guess it's a matter of what customer experience you want to present to the customer. We have an older clientele and we spent more time explaining what they needed to do to check out. The other item, minor, that we didn't care for was that the scanner says "Lane Closed" until you initiate the process from the PC. I would say 90% of the customer's read that and asked what it meant. Then we explained it. Again, minor issue but to explain it for nearly every customer was a bit of pain.

We are a month in with 1st Mile after switching from Xcharge which was integrated with POS - Xcharge was slow for us and I was confused by the fees and charges. Mile 1 supports fleet and financing cards - You can add gift cards too. On the POS side it is much faster than x-charge - Reporting is good - Signature capture is missing, but it wasn't here on xcharge and we had a separate receipt printer - Still waiting for the 1st full-month bill...

Signature capture is something we are working on now. It should be in included in the Q2 2017 release (about Apr 1).

Merchant Partners currently has no way to refund a customer with MItchell - Their support doesn't know when this will be possible

Apologies for delayed response - we're getting ready fro the Scottsdale workshop this week. Response from Johnny5:

"We are delayed implementing this feature. The credit card processing company had some last minute information we had to incorporate. It is still in the hopper, but no firm date when we plan to release it."

We switched to 1st mile about a month ago. So far it is awesome. Quick transactions, prompts people to use debit, and they offer financing programs too. We got the CC terminal to display our logo instead of the factory "This Lane Closed". That is cool too. Still waiting for signature capture to print on the invoice, and Car Care One card to be accepted with the terminal.

Go to "First Mile Middleware"
Then "Configuration"
Then "Hardware"
Then "Configure Device"
Then under "Logo" use the upload box to locate your logo and upload it to the device.
