Received PO - On Order Unchanged?
I just received a stock order for wiper blades. I ordered via P.O. and received parts using receive all button. When checking Inventory list I discovered that the QOH was updated but the parts on order did not clear. Having the parts on order will of course delay ordering parts in the future as it will wait for those parts to be received. Anyone else having this issue?

Re: Received Purchase Order
I'm not a big computer guy but I seem to remember that the Purchase Orders stay in the system. I locked onto this a few years ago when I noticed my purchase orders went way way way back and it was a pain to delete them one by one since I never went to the po option on every work order. I started using them to cross check especially on weekends when I'm not here and went to afternoons when I started leaving at lunch time. To me they're a triple check against my current orders. Any time I see an order deleted it raises questions and I'll check all. Something I really would love to be able to do is see the deleted order. A ghost copy that can't be reopened, just a picture of the one that was deleted and while I'm at it any orders that had changes made on them and the changes high lighted so I can review.
never argue with a fool, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Gary - Would that be with SE 6.4.608 or 612?

Any pattern in terms of catalogs used, quantities involved, checkbox for receive to ROs? This sounds like an inventory part you're talking about.

Re: Received PO - On Order Unchanged?
This was an unusual procedure. Our supplier has a "special price" on some items that we have in our inventory. I manually opened a blank P.O. and entered each part number individually. As they are stocked parts, all the fields were populated upon entering the 15 part numbers. The P.O. was sent to the vendor electronically. When I received the product, I used the Receive All button and verified the quantities and then closed the P.O. I then wanted to change the stocking levels on these parts and noticed that the quantity on hand had been updated to correctly show receipt of the P.O. but the on order amounts still showed exactly the quantities that were ordered.

Re: Received PO - On Order Unchanged?
I can appreciate that the part numbers were the "same", however that entry method is likely the culprit. It almost does everything, but when these manually entered part numbers into PO numbers it interacts strangely.
Trying this now I see it is almost impossible to manually enter a part number you had an existing inventory record. As soon as I leave the part number field, Manager SE fills the description etc. So did you let it do that and then change quantity to order (different from your suggested Reorder?) and play with the cost for this deal? This creates a conflict with existing data; your special entry may agree with the existing part records but on some level it is a mismatch. It was able to calculate the On Order successfully but then entered some state where it became disassociated and couldn't reset the On Order to zero as order fulfilled,
If your steps are different, please let me know.

Re: Received PO - On Order Unchanged?
The process was Inventory>Purchase Order>Add>Add. Type part number in P/N field. Mitchell auto fills the rest. Overwrite quantity suggested but did not change any pricing. Did this for 15 items. P.O. to store and order to us worked as expected. Only difference was "On Order" did not clear to zero.

Re: Received PO - On Order Unchanged?
I just ran into a part that had an erroneous on -order quantity. This caused me to not have the part for a waiting customer. Not good.
I will be observing this closer and report back when I have more data. (I've added Parts On Order to my EOD reports and will check daily)

Re: Received PO - On Order Unchanged?
The ironic part is I've always had committed field issues since day one......that appears to be fixed.

Re: Received PO - On Order Unchanged?
Was a fix ever put into place for this? I just found that we have a number of items showing an "On Order" Quantity greater than zero but we literally are showing no open PO's?

Yes, there was work done to correct this. If you have any lingering issues with this please contact technical support.FraseDick wrote:Was a fix ever put into place for this?
