Is there a way to add a limit on discounts?
IE: Under Promos- Discounts, I would like to add a military discount of 10% of subtotal up to $30.00. I see were we can create a discount but I can't figure out how to cap the discount at a certain amount.

There is no provision within the software currently that will cap a discount. Sounds like a good idea though.

It is on the enhancement request list.

In the meantime, the simple workaround is to define a SECOND discount to use instead. It is configured by dollars instead of percentage. If $50 is your "maximum" discount, you apply the $50 discount INSTEAD of your original discount by percentage. This is a different way to accomplish your stated goal.

Is there a way to change the default labor rate for a particular customer. So that they always have a specific rate no matter what vehicle it is?

You certain can. On the customer tab, click on Type.

Then select the rate from your types. Repeat on the vehicle screen (defaults to match, but in case it was changed previously).
