Backwards Honda Wheel Bearings
Just thought id throw this in, maybe will help, maybe not. had an 06 accord in for a fr wheel bearing replacement. When the job was done had an abs light on and no signal from sensor. Pulled the sensor out figuring the exc ring was missing and low and behold saw no teeth inside hole. decided to look in lf wheel and scratched my head, no teeth. At this point had to swallow the man pride and read the destructions. apparently the magnetic pickup is in the bearing and it only goes in 1 way. need something metal (paper clip) to identify which side of bearing faces in. Hope this helps someone from putting in backwards. Bob in sc

Wow. Nice tip. I hope we never fall into that one. I'm gonna pass that on to the guys.

I did an 05 Accord last week. BCA was nice enough to leave a love note in the box saying to use a paper clip to decide which side was the in side.

I just read the install procedure. It appears that factory bearings are color coded brown on one side to identify the sensor.

Yes, now that I have done one, one side looks black like a normal seal, the other side is more brown, like the color of a magnet.

Re: Backwards Honda Wheel Bearings
I ran into this on some kind of mazda a while back, luckily, I had read an article some where on them and had noticed the sensor pokeing in to where the bearing goes and that made me look for the reluctor, then I remembered reading about it and checked for magnets and found them on one side....
