Engine Specs Disappeared
In the past we used to be able to view engine specs, such as "DOHC" We noticed recently that has went away. Is it coming back, and if not, is there somewhere else in Mitchell we can decode if the vehicle is a DOHC or SOHC?

Hi Cory,
Could you post which version of Manager you are running and the VIN you are decoding? Or pm me the VIN if you'd rather.
Thanks!

Re: Engine Specs Disappeared
Thanks for chiming in, Paul. That makes this much clearer.
Now that we know it's not a data problem for a local database, here's why it's different: 8.0.x is using a new selector for engine data, to be brought more inline with ProDemand and ProSpect engine presentation.

Re: Engine Specs Disappeared
We are disappointed with this change. We used to use the Engine attributes area to check if the car had a GDI engine, etc...can't any more. Surely there is a way to add more details from the VIN to the vehicle screen?

Re: Engine Specs Disappeared
Gerald,
This change was done to match vehicles correctly between ProSpect and Manager. Those details are still seen on any decode with a selection, but you're right - they are not visible after that. We'll look into the possibility of adding an engine "details" button to the vehicle screen to display that information. Right now our plans are fairly tightly-scheduled, so I can't commit to a date at this time.

Re: Engine Specs Disappeared
It has never decoded VW engines, we always are asked about the three letter code, FHV, RST. We add them to the vehicle memo field and then they show up on the RO. Guess I will have to get in the habit of adding more info to memo once we flip to 8.0

Update: We have included the details back into the vehicle screen for the next release version. No firm date on that release yet; but it is done.

Re: Engine Specs Disappeared
Big thumbs up!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
