Compatible Printers ?

Post by NJAuto973 »

Im a new user of Bolt On for Mitchell1. I want to print key tags, but I have been told my Dymo 4XL is not compatible and that I will need a 450 or 550. Is the 450 Twin or 450 Turbo also compatible? Or can someone recommend a better option?
Thanks

The reason some Dymo printers don't work with Bolt ON is because they use older software. Your printer needs to be compatible with v8 of the software. I found this online:
DYMO Label v.8 printer compatibility
The latest DYMO Label v.8 for Windows is DYMO Label v.8.7.4 and is officially supported on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
The officially supported printers are:

LabelWriter 450
LabelWriter 450 Turbo
LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo
LabelWriter 450 Duo
LabelWriter 4XL
LabelWriter Wireless
LabelManager 280
LabelManager 420P
LabelManager 500TS
LabelManager PnP
MobileLabeler
According to this, your 4XL should work. Maybe you should try it before buying a 450.

Thanks for the info Ric. I tried it but get an error right away, called Bolt On support and they said to me Only the 450 and 550 is compatible. I find it hard to believe as the only difference between 450 and 450 xl is you can print larger labels such as return labels - The software is the same version.

This is the error

Bummer. Must be something in their code. I bought a 550 turbo to add to my BOT equipment only to find the same thing. We now use it for other label printing outside of BOT.
