1987 Nissan Stanza - 2.0L High Fuel Pressure
I have a 87 stanza that has about 40 psi KOEO, 44 psi at an idle, if I hook a vacuum gauge to the regulator, at an idle it will drop the pressure to about 38 psi, and after you start and let it run for about 10 seconds, the pressure goes up to 65 psi, and applying and releasing vacuum does not affect the pressure. I am wondering if anyone has seen more problems with the regulator or with the pump or if their is an easy way to narrow it down.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Sounds like you might have a restriction in the return line. Unhook it at the engine and run a hose to a container and see what your fuel pressure does.
Working hard to prove the Green Team can do it with the best of 'em.

Unhooked the return hose at the regulator and ran into a tank, and it still does the same, I watched the flow and it stopped as it hit 65, guess that means new regulator. I feel dumb that I didn't think to do that in the first place!! Sometimes I guess we all have a blonde moment! Guess I got my DUH moment out for the day.

Now the challenge is to find one. The dealer tells me none available in the U.S. Haven't found one aftermarket. May have to get used and hope it works. Dealer #17520-D3502

Thank you fortknoxx, but they don't have it either, been discontinued. Crmeyers that is one for a later production date, this one is part of the whole fuel rail. Not much luck in used either yet.

I think Summit sells a universal adjustable pressure regulator that you could splice into the supply line and control the fule pressure that way. That is the only thing I can think if to fix it if you can not get the correct part for it.

Re: 1987 Nissan Stanza - 2.0L High Fuel Pressure
Well I finally got a fuel pressure regulator from a salvage yard in NC, customer did not want to splice in a aftermarket unless absolutely necessary. So after a day of checking I found one and got it shipped in here, had to buy a whole lower intake, but now he has spare parts, lol. It works, dropped pressure and now runs where it should. Finally got time to get it installed without getting interupted. Thanks for all the input.
