2001 Cad DeVille DHS - Cluster Issue

Post by mopwrforme »

the cluster is off line the scanner will talk to everyother module but the cluster visually the tach. works the speedo works it lights up the abs light is on the airbag light is on the alt. light is on. no temp gauge or fuel gauge. when you go into the airbag module or the abs, the codes are for no comm. with the cluster as far as the alt goes its mantaining 13.7v. at this point i pulled the cluster wiring diag. and ck. pwr and grds. i put an engine in this thing apx. 1200 miles ago and have checked all my grds under the hood they seem to be ok. what am i going to need to check this cluster? any input would be great help thanks too all :?: :?: :?:

seperate issue here. it needs a cluster. very, very common in these. if your customer is leaning towards this being your issue have him google "caddy dash cluster".

I agree, I have replaced a few of these in my time.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Probably a cluster, but just check the communication line for continuity. I recently neglected to do this on a late model GM and mistakenly called the PCM bad. There was an open in the circuit.
