Need Help ASAP; Payment Error!

Not sure what happened, but when I was posting a payment, I realized I had forgotten to print the invoice PRIOR to accepting payment (Company procedure) I canceled payment, then printed the pre-pament invoice. I selected "pay/post invoice" and entered in correct payment amount. It then asked if I wanted to credit the customer the payment amount? I was confused so selected no, and went into the invoice and looked at the print outs. The printout says "Balance due -$170" as in NEGATIVE $170, as if I owed HIM money. I ran a quick "daily report" to see what it showed, but it shows no money in sales or received. What can I do to fix this? If I look at his "open invoice" it shows a proper balance due to US of $170. But the printout shows I owe HIM $170?????

Lookup this customer with F5 Batch Payment, enter their name, then click History and delete payment(s) that are confusing this.
