I have three computer terminals, one of which acts as the Mitchell1 server and hosts our database. That terminal would not turn on this morning, it's as good as a paper weight.
I have a backup of the database, so I have not lost any information. (Whew.) But I do not know how to access the backup without possible complications. When I click on Mitchell1 to open the program on one of the other two terminals, it says: "Welcome to the Setup Wizard" and asks me to enter my account number before proceeding. Can I do that without risking losing access to my data? If I enter jobs today, and those backup from the new terminal, will I have conflicting versions of my database?
Any advice on this would be most welcome. Thank you!
Accessing Database Backup?
Re: Accessing database backup
Ah, but it looks like I have to install the Host software on the second terminal. So... can I do that without compromising my existing database, too?

Re: Accessing database backup
My advice would be to contact support. They will walk you through the process. I recently had to rebuild my server hard drive and discovered that restoring from a backup was not just a drag-and-drop affair.

I second that, restoring SE is decidedly more complex and you want experienced assistance.

Re: Accessing database backup
You want to make sure you properly install the Host version on the computer designated as the host/server for the program. Restoring the backup database would have to be done before entering new jobs in the program. Any jobs entered prior to restoring backup will have to re-entered back into the program after backup is restored.
