Selling A Car

Post by Honest Engine »

I live/work in a small town, and quite often, a vehicle will change ownership but still come to my shop for service.

I haven't quite figured out how to transfer this within Mitchell in a way that I'm comfortable with, maybe I'm missing a step or something. How can go into a vehicle and simply change its owner, while retaining all historical and other information on the vehicle? That is, Mr. Jones sells his car to Mr. Smith, and Mr. Smith brings that car to me for service. Is there a way to tell Mitchell that this vehicle now belongs to Mr. Smith, but every other attribute is exactly the same, and preserve all of the service history so I can refer back to it without creating a duplicate vehicle or some other workaround?

That would be the Change Ownership function available from Utilities - Customer Screen or Vehicle Screen.

There is text and video at this Knowledgebase link: http://www.mitchell1.com/knowledgebase/ ... php?id=156

Perfect, thank you. I knew there had to be a function for it, just couldn't come up with it on my own.
