Unique Part # & Description?

Post by waynesag »

I am trying to change the cost price on an inventory part and it keeps telling me that "This part number must have a unique part number and description." I have no idea what is causing this. I do not have this issue with my other parts that are similar. I have been updating this part for a long time now.

In the parts table, the test for uniqueness is part number + description. Somehow you have a conflict where two exist with the same data. When you open it to edit, it won't take the edit because it doesn't like the fact that there are two entries.

123 Bulb / 123 Alternator = OK
123 Bulb / 123 Bulb = problem

In order to bring these records to the surface, enter the part number or description in the Inventory List and click Search. Tell us what you see. If you do see two records listed that share part # and description, you need to change one of them. If you only see one record, you'll need to contact tech support.
