Re: Change Ownership
The Change Ownership button is only available in the 3-tab display. I believe the designers purposely placed it there and not on the order screen to avoid confusion and accidental events. You can look up a customer with the same clicks from the 3-tab display as easily as starting an order. Just click on Utilities>Customer Screen. The rest will fall right into place.

Re: Change Ownership
Ric is correct, the Change Ownership function is made available from Utilities -> Customer Screen or Vehicle screen as it is an infrequent file maintenance function and to eliminate the potential hazard it could present.

Re: Change Ownership
A number of shops use an "orphan", "graveyard" or similarly named file.
Vehicle detail remains intact that way and any VIN inquiry (or license plate depending on state) finds that vehicle to be transferred back to live action with a current customer as needed.
If there is no chance of the vehicle returning (totaled, etc.), you may remove a vehicle record entirely on the Vehicle screen with Edit -> Remove Vehicle under the following conditions:
1) There is no current order for the vehicle
2) There is no outstanding balance due for work on that vehicle

Re: Change Ownership
You CAN simply turn off CRM for a specific vehicle by unchecking the CRM box on the Vehicle tab.
You can also remove the vehicle completely if it's crashed or totaled. In the 3 tab view, while on the Vehicle tab you want to remove, click Edit>Remove Vehicle.Ric Morin - Volunteer Forum Moderator, Shop Owner, ASE Master L1

Re: Change Ownership
Rick we are using ver 6.5.37 and on the vehicle page I do not have the line "Include this Vehicle in CRM campaign" under inspection date in the upper right.

Re: Change Ownership
That's odd. I'm not aware of this being an option. Are you using CRM? Perhaps this is only activated when you have the CRM upload utility. One thing to note that I have found is that this only works for CRM reminders, which I may have inaccurately assumed you meant. For followup letters that YOU do internally, this button has no effect. If you are using CRM, this can be found on the vehicle tab..........
Once on that tab, you should see it here.......
My apologies if I misunderstood; just trying to help where I can.

Re: Change Ownership
I have asked for clarification on this as to whether it is dynamic (conditional) to appear. I do not have Social CRM configured and I do see it all the time.

Re: Change Ownership
Compared two SE 6.5 rigs; one has the checkbox on the Vehicle screen and the other doesn't. The one that does is a company laptop new last year that I thought never had anything CRM installed. So the Opt Out checkbox only appears when a certain DLL file is present in your system. Manager SE looks for these when it starts up and dynamically "grows" the appropriate options to be visible as is the case here.
I'd been seeing it so long I assumed it had become standard.

Re: Change Ownership
I am running 6.5.44, I don't have this either on the vehicle screen.
I DO have a "Include in the CRM Campaign" on the Customer screen.

Your system has never had SocialCRM installed so the file is not present to grow the option.

Re: Change Ownership
The checkbox I am referring to is the one you don't have; the box on the vehicle screen. THAT box does not affect in-house reports. I just tested it again on my system to be sure there had been no changes since 2004. So IF you had that box and IF you unchecked it, that vehicle will still show up in the list. It's designed to work with CRM, not in-house reporting.

Re: Change Ownership
I have the same question. We used SocialCRM for a time, but switched to another vendor when we were using 5.9. When we upgraded to 6 the checkbox disappeared on the vehicle screens, but the data carried over in the SQL database.JimsAutoMB wrote:I use the REPORTS Features to send out REMINDERS. I found that if I UNCHECK > CRM under the CUSTOMER TAB my followup reports will not include that customer. Where can I download the dll file and what folder does it go into. I would like to be able to filter out certain VEHICLES from the REPORTS.
This dll file should be INCLUDED on ALL versions of manager so that we can filter out OLD cars from REPORTS.
Please explain how to re-enable the checkbox per vehicle.
Removing this feature is either a bug or a sketchy business move. Let us know which it is.

Re: Change Ownership
I think I figured out a workaround for the time being. Let me know what you think and how it might negatively impact reports and other things like that.
1. Create a new customer, call him Sold Cars
2. Reassign ownership of these cars that a customer has sold to Sold Cars
3. Exclude the entire Sold Cars customer from CRM campaigns
Option 2 is to use a SQL update query to manually update the vehicle CRM flag from zero to one for each vehicle.
Thoughts?
