Making Appointment From Open Order?
This may already be covered in another thread that I couldn't find. Using an open order and clicking on appointment to populate it to the scheduler the customer name has to be re-entered. Is this intentional or a fix coming?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting.
What version are you using? I'm not seeing that with 7.0.7; I can randomly create a new Estimate, convert it to R.O. and then click Options - Appointment and the Appointment Editor window opens with their name filled. Please advise of version # being used and the steps involved.

Version 7.0.7
'New'
'Select customer'
'Start new order'
'Options'
'Appointment';
Subject field blank.
So for now I usually just make an RO though the appointment editor, as in select a date by double clicking on the scheduler somewhere and then finding the customer name that way. Then it populates the subject field and then I'll create a work order from there. It would just be nice to do it the other way as well.

Re: Making Appointment From Open Order?
If the first thing you want to do is schedule an appointment, you should click on Schedule - Create an Appointment instead of from Order Options.
Still missing something in the 7.0.7 workflow as you describe:
Your New - Select Customer - Start New Order is set to R.O. instead of Estimate or you have Include Estimates in Schedule turned on (ScreenView tab option)?
You must have added at least one line item or Options - Appointment would be dimmed out (unusable option)
When I have a line item (Symptom, Canned Job, etc.) added to the R.O. then click Options, Appointment, the Appointment Editor opens and Subject displays customer name.

Sometimes you want to start an order and place parts prior to knowing when the vehicle will be coming in for the install so it can go both ways. If i start new order (it is set by default) to open order, I add a labor operation to the order and then click appointment it is still empty

Re: Making Appointment From Open Order?
That's all well and good; this is with an existing customer record? So far I can't replicate your results. Here's mine for reference:
1. F6 New - enter partial customer name for existing customer record
2. Select their vehicle
3. Move to the order screen
4. Add a Symptom or Canned Job
5. Convert Estimate to R.O. [starting at R.O. no difference]
6. Options - Appointment opens Appt. Editor with customer name (as shown above)
EDIT: I made a brief video of the workflow: http://www.screencast.com/t/oms7mdEDlDvz

Basically any repair order I open, unless it is done through the scheduler, will not populate the subject line with the customer name when you try to add it to the schedule through the appointment tab.

If you watched the video clip (link in my last post) and cannot duplicate those results, please contact tech support to look into the cause.priorityauto1 wrote:Basically any repair order I open, unless it is done through the scheduler, will not populate the subject line with the customer name when you try to add it to the schedule through the appointment tab.
