Parts Not Showing As Needed To Order?

Post by nickscarcare »

I just noticed this happening on various vehicles. I am on 7.0.18. I go into revisions, call customer, sell job so I click sell revision, when it transfers to the order screen, then I go and order parts so the order number is there for tracking, but when I hit order parts none show up, I have to click show all parts, then it shows up green, then I can order parts. Its like it is seeing they have been ordered already when they have not.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I'm not seeing any departure in behavior between 7.0.18 and previous versions in this regard. This is all predicated on the setting under Shop Data > Default Settings that converts an Invoice to an RO on a change. If you have that unchecked, the parts order will always come up that way. If you check that option, the order reverts to an Approved RO, and should show the parts needed to order.

I never changed anything. Why does it work on some and not others?

I just did 2 customers, one it worked as normal and the other it did not. I am sure it is only me somehow! I seem to get the odd crap. :D

I may have experienced this, not sure. I am also getting some strange behavior during the receive PO process. Things like a blank name field when there is a RO number associated. I just tried to get a core received and I got stuck in a never ending loop.

Why does that box need to be checked, I have not even put the order to an invoice yet?

If you hadn't previously converted all the way to an Invoice before selling the Revision, the parts should show as needed to order. Maybe you can give us a call for this one? It's starting to sound like there could be a step or two we're missing to replicate it. 888-724-6742, Option 4.

Yes, I wanted to call yesterday, but I did not have the time to sit on the phone, hopefully today.
