Activant update

Post by rhillig »

Last week Activant must have updated their cataloging. At first I thought I was losing my mind, but our service writer noticed it as well. When picking parts on the screen, you used to be able to click on the line without having to click the check box to choose a part. Now you must click on the box exactly to choose the part category.

The main screen allows you to click anywhere on the parts selection line to choose that category,

but when you go to the second screen you have to click right on the box.

I know it probably doesn't seem like a big thing, but when you are trying to do estimates & you are used to just clicking on the line vs trying to click the little box - it takes more time.

I know it's probably not a Mitchell side fix - but is it possible to be able to contact Activant about it?

We haven't received that update yet, I can still click anywhere. I don't see a version number anywhere on my monitor to compare.

I don't think it was a Mitchell side thing, but the cataloging. The only thing we really noticed about the change at first was that the check boxes & the lettering was now bold, instead of a lighter font.

I am sure it wasn't a Mitchell thing. All of my Activant screen is still Red not that barf tan yours is. I only have Advance Auto Parts as a supplier using Activant.

But I am with you, clicking right on the box would be a time consumer.

That is the best quote of the day. That is Auto Value's - Oreilly's is green.

Noticed the same thing and dislike it. Why make something less user friendly?

We have the MyPlaceForParts Auto Value link - but cannot get used to the way you pick parts....they haven't shut off the Activant one yet - so we are continuing to use it.
