Moving host computer
Moving host computer
How involved is it to change which computer in the shop is the host computer? Is there a typical average time it takes to do it? Have to call technical support? Our current host computer is running a little slow, so I'm thinking it might help to move the host to my personal office computer, which isn't used much throughout the day.

I would recommend contacting support for assistance in doing this in the most efficient manner.

The host computer is being replaced very soon. It is being professionally installed ( thankfully). At what point do I call tech support during the installation, or right after.

I think if it was me (i'm a chicken) I'd call before, make sure I had a good back up.
Then call after system is switched over. You will need install disc, or have TS get into your system and install it.

As a reminder, if you are a Bolt On user, make sure you restore from a local backup. Do not use the MSEC backup.
Shut down Manager for the last time on the old computer and perform a Manager backup to a thumb drive or other secure device. Install the new computer, load Manager and perform a restore. TS will walk you through it.
