Cash Receipt Summary vs Revenue by GL Code Reports

We have 200 in the drawer and use a separate sheet to reconcile that nightly. That sheet is attached to the daily closeout bundle.

Absolutely!

Reports printed are split into two packages. One for inventory and one for accounting. Reports printed are....

  Cash Receipts by Payment Type
  Deleted Orders
  Deleted Payments
  Discount Summary
  Invoice Profit Summary
  Posted Orders
  Committed Parts by Part No
  Low Inventory by Part No
  Low Inventory by Vendor

Our daily 'Sales' will be entered into QB from the Cash Receipts by Payment Type report. Deposit receipts and batch reports from cc are attached and checked to match. The cash out form is also attached. The whole package, once all paperwork is obtained, is scanned and filed. Paper is kept for seven years, then shredded. Scans are kept forever, but my plan is to move anything more than ? years old to a removable SSD.

that is perfect! thank you for the help. its very similar to what i do, minus the inventory and quickbooks stuff.

BUT i would still love a way to account for the difference between the cash receipts by payment type and posted orders.

As for the report differences, please take a look at example #2 in the Why Report #s Don't Match PDF attached. It might shed some light about differing factors in calculations.
